Digital Learning Webinar Tutorials – Week 1

To help ensure you have the skills to successfully work remotely from home and to facilitate meaningful teaching and learning online, the Digital Learning team will be delivering a series of online webinar tutorials each week. Below is the schedule for this week and new sessions will be added each Friday for the following week.

To access any of these sessions you will be using Microsoft Teams, and therefore please ensure you access the relevant link at the start time of each event. For best results, please do not logon via the VDI and ensure you are using a supported browser.

Monday 13:00-14:00 - Using Office 365 to Facilitate Remote Working

In this session we will look at how Office 365, particularly OneDrive, Planner and Teams, can facilitate seamless collaboration, organise your workflow and enhance productivity in your department or with your learners.

Tuesday 13:00-14:00 – Canvas Video Conferences (Big Blue Button)

Find out how you can host video conferences with your learners from directly within your Canvas course with no setup or other online tools required.

Wednesday 10:00-11:00 – Communication, Collaboration and Assessment via Microsoft Teams

This session provides an in-depth look at some of the more advanced features Microsoft Teams has to offer and provides advice and inspiration on how it can be used in a virtual classroom setting.

Thursday 13:00-14:00 – Free Digital Tools to Enhance Remote Teaching and Learning

Looking for ways to screencast and share your knowledge from home but not sure what to use? Need some ideas on collaboration tools to engage your learners? Want to enhance your digital content creation skills but don’t know where to start? This session will cover a whole host of free and intuitive tools which can help you and your learners thrive in remote teaching and learning environment.
