Digital Learning Webinars – Week Commencing 13/04/20

Updated: Aug 26, 2021

We will be continuing our schedule of digital learning webinars this week with a number of sessions designed to support and enhance teaching and learning online. Please see below the full schedule and details for joining. Recordings of all previous webinars can be found on this Microsoft Stream channel.

To access any of the live sessions you will be using Microsoft Teams, and therefore please ensure you access the relevant link at the start time of each event. For best results, please do not logon via the VDI and ensure you are using a supported browser.

Tuesday 13:00-14:00 – Using Microsoft Teams for Online Classes and Meetings

Microsoft Teams is a dynamic and powerful platform which can be used for all of your collaboration and communication needs. This session will focus on using Teams for live classes and meetings, utilising video, audio and live chat.

To attend this session, please access this link at the start time of the event.

Wednesday 13:00-14:00 – Microsoft Stream

Microsoft Stream is a video sharing service (a bit like YouTube for Middlesbrough College!) which makes it easy to create, curate and securely share content within your class, your team or the whole College. Among other things, Stream allows you to store all of the recordings of your Teams meetings, and then share the recordings with as many or few people as you choose. You can create channels of relevant content which can then be embedded within Teams or Canvas.

Thursday 13:00-14:00 – FlipGrid

Flipgrid is the world’s leading video discussion platform which is freely available to all staff at Middlesbrough College using their Office 365 login details. Teachers spark discussion by posting video topics and questions to a class and then learners can record, upload, view, react, and respond to each other’s short videos. Not only a means of amplifying the student voice, Flipgrid encourages learners to build and strengthen social learning communities as they discuss their ideas and experiences with their peers.

Friday 11:00-12:00 Enhance Online Feedback Fast Using Microsoft ClassNotebook

Save time. Create. Collaborate. OneNote Class Notebooks are a great way to provide bespoke feedback immediately in real-time and have the potential to revolutionise your marking workflow. In this session, teaching and learning mentor Lucy Jones will demonstrate how ClassNotebook has changed her approach to providing online feedback.
